Optimal Production Mix to Increase Profitability

Problem: Non-optimal production mix built by planners costs the company money and resources

Solution: Used excel solver to optimize production mix to maximize consumption of materials; created a program in python to optimate the process

Impact: Better utilization of constrained material; Quick production plan development; Reduced planning resources to build the plan

Implementing Statistical Safety Stocks

Problem: Planners setting safety stocks based on their subjective knowledge of a product; Non-standard process with no mathematical basis

Solution: Created an excel template that calculates statistical safety stocks based on real time demand/supply.

Impact: Optimization of safety stocks long term; less usage of planning resources post go-live

Network Optimization

Sales and Ops Planning

Problem: Adhoc communication between functions and too many gaps between operations and commercial teams

Solution: Benchmarked current process against best-in-class S&OP process; Proposed new process and led implementation in various roles

Impact: Better communication and cross-functional collaboration leading to quicker decision meeting and a competitive advantage then why not build them

Problem: Determine the best path to ship materials

Solution: Used excel solver (Mixed Integer Linear Programming) to determine where to place DCs
